How I work

Ten years of agency projects taught me that good outcomes come from good process. Here's my tried and tested approach.

1. Discovery

Before anything is designed or built, we take time to get the scope right. This means a kickoff call, documenting your goals, agreeing the feature list, mapping your content and information architecture, and producing a signed-off specification that both sides are committed to. No surprises later.

2. UX & Design

Design comes before development. I map the key customer journeys, produce UX wireframes for your core templates, and build out a full styleguide before moving to high-fidelity designs. Nothing moves to build until you've signed off on what we're building.

3. Development

With a locked-down design and agreed scope, the build begins. This covers everything: theme setup, page templates, data migration, third-party integrations, SEO foundations, analytics, and any custom functionality agreed in discovery. Work is tracked and I regularly keep you updated with progress.

4. QA & Testing

Before you see anything, I test it properly - across browsers, devices, and the full purchase flow. Then it's over to you for two rounds of structured feedback. The store doesn't go live until you've signed it off.

5. Launch & Handover

Launch day follows a thorough checklist: DNS, payments, analytics, redirects, transactional emails - everything confirmed before the storefront password comes off. You get two training sessions and written documentation so your team can run the store independently from day one. Four weeks of post-launch support is included as standard.

After launch

Many clients move onto a monthly retainer once the project is done - a set number of days each month for ongoing development, improvements, and strategic Shopify advice. No long-term lock-in, just a reliable way to keep moving.
